About Sacheen Tipnis
Get to know my background and my international education.
I'm Sacheen, a fourth-year student pursuing a dual degree in marketing and European management from the University of San Diego and EM Strasbourg Business School. I have lived all over the United States, including being born in California and growing up in Wisconsin and Mississippi. Through my academic journey, I learned my passion for creativity and marketing. In my first semester at USD, I learned about encoding and decoding messages and how being creative with words can make or break a marketing ad. My grandfather was a first-generation American, and it was because of him that I wanted to become an entrepreneur. I have spent the last few years learning different business skills in the hope of one day making a company that he can be proud of. I hope to continue my professional journey in the marketing industry while expanding my global footprint.
My Education
University of San Diego
Going to college in California has been a dream of mine since I was little, and the University of San Diego was the perfect fit for me. It has a top-ranked business school and a gorgeous campus, and San Diego is my favorite city in the United States. Throughout my college journey, I have been actively involved in many organizations on campus, including Delta Sigma Pi, Beta Theta Pi, South Asian Student Association, and USD Film Society. Through these organizations, I have held multiple leadership positions, some of which include Vice President of Brotherhood for DSP, DEI Chair for Beta Theta Pi, and Fraternity and Sorority Programming Board member for all fraternities and sororities on campus. I also worked a part-time job on campus in the USD Creative Zone while maintaining the academic achievement award of first honors and Dean's list for six consecutive semesters. I plan to graduate this May with Magna Cum Laude status.
EM Strasbourg Business School
During my four years at the University of San Diego, I spent my junior year living in Strasbourg, France. I completed the dual degree program in May 2023 and finished with a European management degree from EM Strasbourg Business School. My passion for studying abroad started in high school when I studied in Arequipa, Peru, and the Andalusia region in Spain. It is from these experiences that I learned the importance of global connectivity and how I can become a better professional through global networks. During my time in Strasbourg, I was able to enhance my international business skills while connecting with international students from all over the world. I also joined two student organizations including the Erasmus Student Network and the International Student Association. Also, I worked as a social media coordinator for a small business in Strasbourg called Faim Deloup. Through my experience in Europe I was able to travel to 18 countries and over 35 cities.
